United For Peace - Fornasetti supports CBM Italy's "Ukraine Emergency" campaign 30 September 2022 – 31 January 2023

Milan, 30 September 2022 – #fornasetti launches the "United for peace" campaign, spreading the pacifist message by means of an exclusive decoration: the symbol of peace frames three different versions of the face of #linacavalieri, adding three new plates to the "Tema e Variazioni" series. The Milanese Atelier has chosen to link the sharing of this call for peace to a charitable activity in support of CBM Italia Onlus, a humanitarian organisation which, in the context of the emergency in Ukraine, is committed to ensuring the rights of people with disabilities.

Through "United for peace", #fornasetti is contributing to the "Ukraine Emergency" campaign launched by CBM to protect the most vulnerable people affected by the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine and, more generally, in the heart of Europe, donating part of the proceeds from the sales of the "Tema e Variazioni" trio of plates. To support the initiative, from 30 September 2022 to 31 January 2023, the new plates can be purchased at #fornasetti stores in Milan and London, at www.fornasetti.com and worldwide from authorised retailers participating in the initiative.

"United for peace" is part of an ongoing relationship that has bound #fornasetti and CBM since 2013, punctuated by artistic projects and collaborations of various kinds, including the 2020 project "United with the world" in support of the international "Covid-19 Emergency" campaign.

"Guaranteeing the rights of people with disabilities is our daily goal, which we have been pursuing for 110 years in the Southern Hemisphere. In emergency situations we take the same approach. We did this two years ago during the pandemic, when we extended our operations to Italy; and we have done it again in the last few months with the crisis in Ukraine, ensuring that the rights of people with disabilities are not neglected" explains #massimomaggio, director of CBM Italy. "I am sure that our renewed and valued collaboration with #fornasetti will allow us to strengthen our daily commitment to people with disabilities involved in the conflict, intensifying the support network so as to intervene in practical ways where it is most needed."

The support network put in place by CBM brings tangible help both to Ukraine – a country that has over two million people with disabilities - and to neighbouring countries; people who are more exposed to the risk of abandonment, violence and lack of access to safety – just think of shelters that are inaccessible to wheelchairs. In cooperation with the European Disability Forum, an independent organisation that brings together associations of people with disabilities across Europe, CBM works alongside local organisations to identify and respond to the needs of the most vulnerable, ensuring that evacuation plans, shelters, transport, food and medical care are accessible to them. Initiatives already underway include the creation of a help-desk giving people with disabilities access to information.

The practical help of those who support the project by buying the new "Tema e Variazioni" plates will make it possible to contribute to CBM's activities on various fronts to protect the most vulnerable.

"Everything at #fornasetti, from the #design of objects to the development of cultural activities, begins with the desire for a broader impact on the social

environment. We have always been driven by an outward-looking mindset, by a sort of impulse to transform that which surrounds us. This is what truly defines and distinguishes everything we do.

Long-term collaborations such as this one, which combines Fornasetti's imagination and values with CBM's capacity for concrete intervention, provide a tangible expression for this inclination that has always characterised our activity.

With this latest project specifically, and the #unitedforpeace campaign, we are committed to supporting CBM's intervention on behalf of the most vulnerable people affected by the conflict in Ukraine, launching an explicit message of peace. With the help of those supporters who buy the three new plates in the 'Tema e Variazioni' series, we can make our contribution to peace tangible and significant." Barnaba #fornasetti.
